Gardening

Group Leaders: Angela Zhang, Ms Lamble

Schools to Work

Ms Lamble and a committee of Generation Earth members are currently planning to implement the gardening project into year 7 curriculum. We have allocated 5 areas of garden in our school to be renewed with an array of native plants, funded by a grant from North Sydney Council. All year 7 students will be heavily involved redesign and planting of these gardens. For more information, see the latest minutes.

We have also allocated the garden beds outside of the gym and B block stairs to Generation Earth. This garden will be redesigned and planted by Gen Earthlings and left in the care of future members.

Stay tuned for more details!

Worm Farm Roster

Lunchtime Collection:
Around 10 minutes before lunch ends, you need to collect all four collection buckets (2 on quad, 1 near amphitheatre, 1 near courts). Bring them all to the worm farms outside DT3, underneath the E block stairs. Take the lid off and lift the newspaper. Spread the food scraps evenly on the tray and cover with the newspaper. Put the lid back on, return the buckets and remember to wash your hands! :)

!Update! A second level has been added to both worm farms due to the first levels overflowing after one week of food collection (good work nsg!). This means when you're emptying the buckets into the worm farms you will need to lift off the lid and the first layer of food to get the the second layer. It's very heavy so you will definitely need a partner to help you.
