Generation Earth is a group of like-minded students and teachers from North Sydney Girls High who are devoted to the well-being of the environment and its preservation for the future generations to enjoy as well as our generation. Through the combined effort of determined individuals, Gen Earth NSGHS is aiming to make a change in the community with numerous environmental strategies and projects, advocacy and action within the home, school and the broader community.

Thur 3 Dec: Call for Help on Green Day

My comments are addressed mainly to the School To Work Committee, but anyone in Yr 10 or 11 who is interested in lending a hand would be welcome:

1. 7Y to do weed identification and removal on Friday 11 Dec, period 3 and some planting.
2. Every lunchtime, I have called for volunteers from Yr 7 to plant more new plants in the spaces in the gardens.
3. The SEMP needs further work. I suggest Thursday 10 Dec could be a great day to get together. I can take the whole day to finish the SEMP and you might like to join me at some stage. Let me know if you can attend, to set goals and devise action plans
Details of these events:

1. In period 3, Friday Dec 11 (Green Day) I have organised 7Y Science class to come out into the garden to identify weeds. After we give them a chat about how to identify the weeds, we'll pull some out, near the car park.
Then, with the spare time left, they can plant the new plants that I have ordered today.

Under the rules of the North Sydney Girls Grant, the education of junior students about weed identification and weed removal was part of the deal. So, we need to do it! Photos will be evidence.
It would be good if we laminated the weeds we collected months ago and arranged them on the walls too… but we might not have time to do this until last week of school.

I think Friday is Presentation Day rehearsal. Not sure how many of you can get out to help me.
