Group Leaders: Stephanie Zhu, Jessica Xu (both in year 10)
"This year world leaders will decide the global response to Climate Change at the UN Climate Change conference in Copenhagen…. We are asking you as a young Australian to decide what type of world you would like to inherit, based on the emission reduction targets the Australian government commits to and advocates for at Copenhagen this December." — Youth Decide website
It's not over!
Many thanks to all those who voted and helped out with this event at NSG!! In total, 37,432 young Australians voted, 97.5% voted for emissions targets stronger than those currently proposed by the government. It was a huge success, but it doesn't end here.
The next step is to help deliver these results to all Federal Politicians! The Youth Decide crew make it easy by providing letter templates and guides to contact local and federal MPs. Help the movement, and spread the word.
If you have any photos, follow these simple steps to help promote the movement. Please email us (moc.liamg|gsn.htrae.noitareneg#moc.liamg|gsn.htrae.noitareneg) for the password to the Gen Earth flickr account, to upload there.
NSG and NSB will be holding a joint meeting Tuesday 29th September, 8-9.25am in E6 at NSG. We will try to go through the letter template and make changes according to our situation. We'll then send it on behalf of our environment groups. If you'd like to be a part of this, please email us (moc.liamg|gsn.htrae.noitareneg#moc.liamg|gsn.htrae.noitareneg)
